Cindy joined The Peace Idea after retiring in 2017. Her background includes working many years with the NC Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Rural Health, for program development, community outreach, and physician recruitment in rural and under-served areas of North
Carolina. Her experience also includes public health, fundraising, event planning, and a lifelong dedication to children and youth. She is fueled by her passion that all children deserve to be loved and nurtured. From family to cross-cultural experiences, she continues to develop strong relationships which are the foundation of everything she does, both personally and professionally.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, and, along with many special friends, her three siblings, five nieces and nephews, and eleven great nieces and nephews. As an award winning writer, she still enjoys both fiction and poetry.
She says, “Writing is my prayer and my playground, wherein I find the fictional truth of ordinary life.”
